I started my American Accent learning with Prof. Alex a couple of months ago . He is an amazing professor with Ph.D in this major and tons of experience. He adjusted the program based on my needs! I think individual approach is the key to successful learning and Prof. Alex made it work for me.
First, in the demo session we set up learning approach and prof. Alex introduced a learning platform. I have never known about Moodle before, but it is an amazing “smart” system (see pics I attached) that has step by step approach to guide you through learning! Prof. Alex has organized it so well, and this platform goes well with One-on-One learning. I am seeing Prof. Alex twice a week and then the platform trains my speaking skills. All Prof. Alex’s feedback that I got in private class help me train correctly and speak properly by myself with Moodle. I start understanding how American sounds work, how to organize them using my organ of speech. Improve my listening skills, compare my accent today with my future pronunciation. Prof. Alex focuses on improving my accent through my native pronunciation. There are a lot of facial exercises I am doing to adjust my American accent. Nobody has ever done that to me. A lot of my trainers asked me just to repeat after them, and it didn’t work well I was upset I couldn’t repeat like they do.
Second, I was so impressed when I saw 2D Sound Motion. I saw a short video that showed me what I should do with my organs of speech to pronounce a correct American sound. It is simplifying my learning and I understand how to say a sound. Prof. Alex developed all American sounds into 2D. That is incredible!
Third, I think it is extra, but he is always online and always ready to help. There is a private chat on Moodle where you can ask questions. There are social forms where you can communicate with other students, and it is pretty great to know who is struggling with what sound and how they overcame those challenges … it is like a small community. Worthy each dollar I invested!
This is definitely the best American Accent Training Course I have ever taken!
Prof. Alex, thank you so much!!!
“…I reached out to Alex in regards to my completion of my TESOL certification. He was very Intelligent, Patient, he took the time to listen to my concerns and fears. He encouraged, me and explained content with an approach I had never thought of. I felt embarrassed being in the education field for so long, needing the help, but he assured me it was normal, because my passion was to succeed and elevate my students. Alex took my passion and built upon it, and inspired me to reach new heights in my teaching career; as I embark to work with international students. He was willing to share and receive resources. He continues to push me to learn more, and different ways to improve. I highly recommend Alex for any endeavor he seeks.
